Dec 16 – Goa police have multiple ‘definite clues and leads’ about absconding criminal Suleiman, alias Siddiqui Khan, he will be arrested soon, assured DGP Goa Alok Kumar. When queried if investigation will be initiated in allegations made by Suleiman against police personnel and politicians and whether CCTV footages will be checked as suggested in the video, DGP said , ”Our priority right now is to re-arrest Suleiman. Once in custody, we will verify whether the allegations he made in the viral video are genuine or a ploy to distract the police from their pursuit of nabbing him,” DGP Kumar said. The investigation is being conducted by multiple teams under DIG Range. xSuleiman is a wanted criminal in several interstate cases, he was on the run for over four years before being caught after a three-month operation, DGP pointed out. Further adding that such a criminal’s statements should be viewed critically given his track record. Suleiman escaped custody recently, leading to the suspension of IRBn constable Amit Naik who aided him. “If others are found involved, strict action will be initiated against them too,” the DGP assured.
