Aug 6- Dabolim Airport has been performing to its optimum capacity and has 57% share in the Goa’s air traffic currently, house was told by CM Sawant in response to a calling attention expressing concern over the future of Dabolim Airport. The state legislative assembly witnessed a heated debate over the issue with opposition members alleging that Dabolim is dying a slow death ‘without dignity’. CM Pramod Sawant reiterated that the state needs both the airport. He also said he will meet Union Civil Aviation Minister seeking reduction in user development fees, parking and landing fees, visa on arrival facilities etc at Dabolim Airport. He also assured the opposition of considering their suggestion of the study of dual traffic management plan. 8.3 acres of land is proposed to be acquired from the Indian Navy by Airport Authority of India for enhancement of terminal building and related air side infrastructure at Dabolim.
