Digital Goa, June 27 – With the completion of double tracking of Rail routes and advancement in technology, time taken to travel between Goa and Mumbai will be reduced to 5 hours, said CM Pramod Sawant today. He was speaking at the virtual launch of Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Semi Express Train by PM Narenda Modi. The Vande Bharat train is expected to cover the Mumbai-Goa distance in 8 hours time. CM also informed that Margao Railway station being ‘gateway of Goa’ will be given a major facelift. Center has been urged to provide Rail Connectivity to Mopa Airport and also for local travel within Goa. Informing that Mopa Airport has provided direct air connectivity to 20 new destinations, Sawant said that with both the airports, Dabolim and Mopa in operation, shortly Goa will be connected by air to all the airports in the country.
