Digital Goa, March, 17 – A woman has been booked for allegedly misappropriating ₹49.68 lakh from a Calangute-based medical store by replacing the shop’s official QR payment scanner with her personal one and diverting customer payments to her own account. The offence in this regards was registered on March 16 based on a complaint filed by Mapusa resident. According to the complaint, the accused, a resident of Pernem, and a former employee committed the fraud between February 2020 and October 2025 while working at the Store in Calangute. She is also accused of opening an unauthorized pigmy account at Sattari Cooperative Bank and diverting funds there.
