Digital Goa, August 5 – North Goa SP Rahul Gupta said that as per preliminary investigation there is no evidence of any recent assault on the woman found without clothes at the Bastora flyover in the wee hours today, though the woman has a prior FIR at Porvorim Police Station alleging sexual abuse by a man and his friends. The 27-year-old is a native of UP and was staying in rented accommodation provided to her by the man who brought her to Goa and against whom she has filed FIR, informed Gupta. He added that today, she was taken to Mapusa District Hospital, where doctors observed signs of self-harm and possible mental illness. The doctor has recommended her referral to IPHB, he said. “She was not co-operating. She was very aggressive and alleging a lot of things. She requested that she does not want to be investigated by local police and the case be transferred to someone else. We transferred the case to Women Police Station in Panaji,” informed SP. He added that she has been constantly changing her statements. As regards today’s incidents, police are tracing her movements through CCTV, and technical surveillance to find out how she landed at the flyover, he added.
Victim woman alleges rape by 6 persons
Meanwhile, when the woman was being taken out of the Hospital she told media persons naming one individual, that he has got her raped by 6 persons. She also pleaded with media persons to inform an acquaintance about her ordeal.
