Digital Goa, July 2 – A group of women from Sada, Vasco allegedly caught an absconding jewellery shop owner accused of cheating customers by failing to return pledged gold ornaments and brought him to Vasco Police Station, claiming police had not acted despite multiple complaints. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Victims alleged that the accused who is a native of Karnataka, offered gold loans at low interest rates, but failed to return the pledged jewellery even after the loans were fully repaid. The women traced the accused in Sada on Wednesday night and handed him over to police while demanding strict action. Incidentally two complaints lodged at Mormugao Police Station in June 2026, allege that gold ornaments worth over ₹52 lakh were not returned despite repayment.
