Digital Goa, Nov 24- Goa govt has signed MoU with Zen Technologies Limited for setting up Anti-drone system manufacturing unit at Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC),Tuem. The company will bring in initial investment of Rs 50 crore and create 800 jobs, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Govt has handed over land to Zen Technologies to set up the project as well as training center. The training center for primarily engineering, diploma and ITI students will be started first to ensure that by the time the company is ready Goan youth are also ready with requisite training to be employed there, informed Sawant. The company which is also into exports is expected to set up its manufacturing unit at Tuem in 2 years time. Zen Technologies Ltd is primarily into providing simulators for weapons & allied defense equipment and defense training systems.
EMC at Tuem has 45 plots under Micro category and 15 plots for setting up bigger industries. EMC 1.0 phase has started and there is good reciprocation from industry, informed IT Minister Rohan Khaunte. As of now process of setting up of 4 micro level industries and 2 big industries with total investment potential of Rs 200 crore and employment capacity of 2000 is underway, he said. The Minister added that the necessary infrastructure is coming up at a fast pace.
