₹ 5,790-crore convention centre cum hotel and downstream facilities project to come up at Dona Paula; bids invited

Digital Goa, Nov 27 – Goa govt’s Department of Public Private Partnership has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development of an International Convention Centre–cum–Convention Hotel and downstream facilities project at Dona Paula on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model. The project, estimated at ₹5,790 crore, will come up on around 2,84,775 sq mtr of government-owned land located at Taleigao village, near Dona Paula. The land will be leased to the selected concessionaire after the agreement is signed. The project will include an international convention centre with a minimum 5,000-seat capacity, an exhibition hall and open-air exhibition area, a 300-key convention hotel, a 4-screen multiplex among others. Additional commercial development like hotels, retail spaces and serviced apartments will also be permitted as per planning and zoning norms. The concession period allows up to 5 years for completion of mandatory facilities and up to 15 years for full project completion.
