Digital Goa, June 30 – Calangute Police have busted an illegal international call centre operating from a hotel at Khobrawado, Calangute and arrested 19 persons, including 17 from Maharashtra and two from Madhya Pradesh, for allegedly cheating citizens of the United States by posing as iOS customer service agents. During the raid at Hotel Baga Residency, police seized 12 laptops, five mobile phones and other computer equipment worth around ₹10 lakh. According to police, the accused induced victims to make payments through gift cards, Apple gift cards and cryptocurrency.
