Jan 20 – Nineteen people, including five foreigners, were rescued from drowning by Drishti Marine lifesavers off Goa’s beaches over the weekend, as strong rip tides and currents swept through the waters. One of the rescued foreign nationals was a 13-year-old child.
Incidentally, a tourist’s finger was cut on a propeller while alighting from a sightseeing boat at Baina beach. The tourist approached the nearby lifesaver tower for assistance and was administered first aid.
