Aug 31- Porvorim police arrested 3 persons including 2 women for allegedly operating interstate extortion racket on pretext of providing escort service. Police action was initiated following complaint by 2 tourists from Punjab identified as Sagar Ansari and Shoaib Sadiq. As per the complaint, the two men called the women they contacted through Escort Service website to their hotel rooms at Classic Hotel, Porvorim after ‘fixing their services’ for Rs 10,000. According to the complainant, the women came to the hotel and assaulted and threatened them and made them pay Rs 20,000. When the men started shouting for help they fled from the spot in a taxi, stated the complaint. The arrested accused are identified as Candolim based taxi driver Deepak Salgaonkar(age 37 years), 28-year-old Babita Upadhyay from Mumbai and 38-year-old Sutapa Bannerjee from West Bengal.
