Digital Goa, Mar 18 – Goa govt today told the High Court that 80 % of the work of air-conditioning at The State Central Library has been completed. High Court had taken Suo Motu cognizance of the media reports regarding nonfunctioning of air conditioners at the library. The court had expressed concern over protection and preservation of thousands of books including 40,000 volumes of the pre-Liberation collection of books housed at the library. Rs 2.1 crore work order for the replacement of the existing air conditioning system at the Library has been awarded to Aprant Motors on December 1. The AC system installed in 2011 had stopped working in 2019.
