Bima Sakhi’s’ to boost insurance access in Goa

Jan 7- Aimed at expanding life insurance coverage at the grassroots level in Goa with assistance from local women, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched the ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ today. In collaboration with LIC, the initiative will provide women the opportunity to work as Bima Sakhis, raising awareness and increasing access to insurance across the state. Govt has set a target of appointing 1,000 such Bima Sakhis. Women selected for the program will receive training and a monthly stipend of Rs 7,000 per month as well as performance based bonus. Std X is minimum educational qualification to register with the program.
