Digital Goa, Mar 5 – Five persons have been booked by Mandrem police in the suspicious death case of Anita Rathod on February 23. Police have registered a case of dowry death after the 23-year-old woman’s body was found hanging at her Kalchawada, Arambol residence. The case was registered after 8 days of the incident following directions from SDM Pernem. The accused are identified as her husband Anil Rathod, Sujata Rathod (Sister in law), Nirmala Rathod (mother in law) , Ramesh Rathod (Brother in law) and Kushelappa Rathod (Father in law). As per the complaint, the family subjected Anita to cruelty by torturing her constantly by mentally and physically to fulfill the demand of dowry to the such extent that she died an un natural death. Her father Dhansinga Lamani and her family which hails from Karnataka had camped in Goa for the last 8 days demanding justice for their daughter who had died within 3 years of her marriage.
