Digital Goa, Mar 6 – Police have booked three persons from Cotigao, Canacona, for allegedly disrupting the foundation-laying work of an Anti-Poaching Camp. The accused, identified as Umesh Gaonkar, Gajanan Velip, and Kalpesh Gaonkar, argued with forest officials, obstructed their work, and forcefully stopped the construction, informed Canacona Police. They also snatched the keys of a JCB, threatened the driver, and compelled him to refill the dug foundation. Locals who opposed the work are suspecting that a check post is being constructed at the place in an unauthorised manner and want the work to be stopped. When a check post comes up in any area locals have to face undue checking and surveillance on daily basis, they pointed out.
