Digital Goa, March 27- Goa is completely safe for women, asserted CM Pramod Sawant today, adding that while incidents do occur, they are immediately detected and acted upon. Reiterating that migrants are generally involved in crimes, Sawant informed that 70,000 tenants have been verified so far. He claimed that individuals with criminal backgrounds now avoid Goa, knowing that their past records are accessible to the police. The tenant verification process will soon commence in industrial estates (IDC) by cross-checking data with the Labour Department, he added. Contractors will also be required to ensure tenant verification, he added. Addressing concerns over drugs, Sawant claimed that cases come to light only because the police take action against them.
