Digital Goa, May 13 – In connection with the recent stampede incident at the Devi Lairai temple in Shirgao, the state government has issued show cause notices to eight officials for alleged lapses in crowd management and failure to ensure adequate safety measures. The officers served notices include the then District Magistrate of North District, the then Superintendent of Police (SP) of North Goa, the then Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bicholim, the then Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) / Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of Bicholim, the then Mamlatdar of Bicholim, the then Police Inspector (PI) of Bicholim Police Station, the then PI of Mopa Police Station, and the Panchayat Secretary of Shirgao.
