Digital Goa, June 19 – A 45-year-old person from South Goa has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2.75 lakh for sexually assaulting his daughter’s 17-year-old friend in 2023 by spiking chocolate with a sedative. Vasco police had arrested the suspect on October 16, 2023 and registered cases against him under IPC, POCSO and other related laws. Taking cognizance of the testimony of the victim girl, witnesses and medical reports and other evidence, the POCSO court found the accused guilty.
