Ruckus in House Over Ro-Ro Ferry Service on Chorao–Ribandar Route

Digital Goa, July 22 – Assembly witnessed a noisy scene during Zero Hour, as RGP MLA Viresh Borkar raised concerns over the chaos caused by the introduction of the Ro-Ro ferry service between Chorao and Ribandar. He demanded rollback of fares for locals and more trips during peak hours. River Navigation Minister Subhash Phaldessai said traffic has increased—30% for four-wheelers, 40% for two-wheelers—and defended the fare as reasonable. He urged frequent users to opt for monthly passes and revealed that daily revenue has risen from ₹6,000 to ₹30,000 since the service began.
