Digital Goa, August 17 – In a breakthrough in the December 2024 ‘digital arrest’ scam cybercrime case, the Goa Cyber Crime Police have arrested the alleged mastermind, Anil Tripathi, a resident of Singapore. He was detained at Delhi Airport on August 15 after a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him. The victim from Siolim was cheated of ₹1 crore by fraudster impersonating a Delhi Crime Branch inspector. Police have so far nabbed seven accused in connection with the case. Police informed that Tripathi is a habitual offender and was earlier arrested in Singapore in fake tech support scam, where he routed US $15,000 from a senior citizen’s account into Indian bank accounts.
