Digital Goa, Sept 3 – The Command Areas Development (CAD) board, in its meeting held today, discussed the nod by the state cabinet to denotify lakhs of square meters of land from the Tillari command area at Dhargal for the benefit of several proposals including the Delta Corp integrated resort project at Dhargal. Goa cabinet cannot bypass the statutory powers vested in the CAD board, take unilateral decisions on denotifying such a large tract of notified land and superimpose it on the board, asserted board member and MLA Carlos Ferreira. The board has now decided to notify the proposals, seek objections from public and then consider taking a decision on them, informed Ferreira. He further clarified that although the matter was listed on the agenda, the proposal has not been cleared. Goa government had notified the scheme for 14,521 hectares of land under the Goa Command Area Development Act, 1997, in 2024. However, within months of this, state cabinet approved the denotification of portions of this land, including 3.3 lakh sq mtrs of private land bought by Delta Corp at Dhargal for setting up an integrated resort.
