NBCC to complete redevelopment of 7 Goa projects in next 2 years: CM

Digital Goa, Sept, 22 – Goa government has signed an MoU with NBCC (India) Limited, a Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, for the redevelopment of seven major projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The projects are expected to be completed within two years, with the foundation stone for some of them to be laid in the next 15 days, informed CM Pramod Sawant. The redevelopment plan includes Junta House, Circuit House at Altinho, government quarters at St Inez (Plot I and II), the government garage at Panaji, and the KTC bus stand at Vasco. Additionally, NBCC will construct the Prashasan Stambh administrative building at Chimbel, Kadamba Plateau. Sawant explained that the projects will be implemented on a 70:30 space-sharing basis, wherein NBCC will retain around 70% of the developed space and the government will get 30%, leased for a period of 60 years. However, two projects — the entire Prashasan Stambh building and the Circuit House at Altinho — will be fully handed over to the government. The CM added that if the government had to take up the projects independently, the cost could escalate to nearly ₹2,500 crore.
