Digital Goa, October 28 – The Crime Branch and District Police are jointly investigating the firing incident at Naibag, Pernem, in which two labourers sustained bullet injuries, informed SP North Rahul Gupta. He said police have specific inputs and are confident that the case will be solved very soon. He informed that it was a group of eight people near a boat when someone fired at them. Both injured are labourers, and police have some idea of why the firing took place and are investigating on those lines, he further informed. The injured have been identified as Lalbabu God (37) and Ram Rishi Paswan (54), both residents of Parascodem, Pernem. Bullet has been removed from one of the injured person through surgery, while the other has been hit on the neck. SP Gupta further added that if illegal sand extraction is found to be linked to the incident, strict action will be taken against that too.

Reacting to the incident, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “Police have been asked to take strict action. All involved will be placed behind bars.”
