16 people including five foreigners rescued from drowning in Goa

Digital Goa, December 1 — Lifesavers rescued 16 people, including five foreign nationals, from drowning across Goa’s beaches and at Dudhsagar waterfalls over the weekend. Rescue operations were carried out at Mandrem, Morjim, Baga, Candolim, Bogmalo, Velsao, Betalbatim, Benaulim, Colva, Palolem, Agonda and Patnem beaches. Several victims were caught in rip currents, while others required assistance after drifting offshore or capsizing while kayaking.
An 11-year-old girl from Baga suffered pain after being stung by a jellyfish while in the waters off Bogmalo beach. Lifesavers administered first aid before handing her over to the 108 ambulance team for further treatment.

▪️ Kayak capsizes off Palolem beach, 6-year-old child and 25-year-old man rescued
A 25-year-old man and a six-year-old child were rescued after their kayak capsized approximately 500 metres offshore at Palolem beach. Lifesaver brought both to safety using a jet ski.
