Digital Goa, Dec 9 – A Public Interest Litigation seeking a court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub fire will be heard by the High Court on December 16. The PIL calls for the constitution of a Judicial Commission headed by a retired High Court judge to investigate administrative negligence and crowd-management failures. The plea also seeks an investigation into alleged illegal construction, licensing lapses and dereliction of duty by authorities and demands a statewide action to curb such illegalities.
