Digital Goa, Dec 9 – Congress and the Goa Forward Party(GFP) have formally announced an alliance for the upcoming ZP elections, in a joint press briefing today. Speaking at the briefing, GPCC Chief Amit Patkar said the Congress fielded 36 candidates – in North Goa and 17 in South Goa. Goa Forward will contest nine seats – 5 in North Goa and 4 in South Goa under the alliance arrangement. The alliance will extend support to independent candidates where needed. At 2 places there will be friendly fights where we will fight without hurting each other, said GFP leader Vijai Sardesai. There were speculations that AAP will also join as alliance partner. Sardesai alleged that AAP went to Delhi and the alliance plans were changed.
