Digital Goa, January 7 – Goa Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Goa Institute of Management Private University Bill, 2026, which will be tabled in the forthcoming session of the State Assembly. CM Sawant said GIM, which has been operating from a transit campus at Sanquelim, will now be granted private university status following the passage of the Bill.The move is expected to provide GIM greater academic and administrative autonomy.

Cabinet has granted post-facto approval for expenditure of ₹16 crore incurred on the Birsa Munda birth anniversary programme and ₹4.5 crore spent on works at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
