Digital Goa, Jan 16 – CM Pramod Sawant today informed the House that Pooja Naik, is the prime accused in the cash-for-government job scam, and is currently behind bars. Investigations have revealed extensive misuse of funds collected from govt job aspirants, he added. Sawant said that a probe into Naik’s lifestyle showed that the ₹17 crore she claimed she allegedly collected from gullible aspirants was spent on herself. He pointed to her lavish living, accumulation of wealth, ownership of high-end vehicles and other assets, large sums of money in bank accounts, and frequent foreign trips as evidence.CM further stated that property worth ₹4.40 crore belonging to the accused has been seized. “The seized property will be used to repay the victims of the job scam. We are awaiting court orders,” Sawant told the House. According to the information placed before the House, a total of 51 complaints have been filed by people in connection with the cash-for-job scam—40 in 2025 and 11 in 2025. Warning the public, Sawant urged people not to fall prey to anyone claiming to have links with the government and promising government jobs in exchange for money.
