Digital Goa, June 16 – Mardol Police have registered a cheating case after a woman from Khandola, Marcel was allegedly duped of ₹4.13 lakh in an online investment scam. The complainant told police that she came across an online advertisement between in April 2026, which falsely used the name and image of a Cabinet Minister to promote a purported government investment scheme promising high returns.Believing the scheme to be genuine, she invested money and later paid an additional ₹2.5 lakh after being told it was required for tax payments.
