Family alleges foul play in 19-year-old’s electrocution death, seeks fresh probe

Digital Goa, June 28 – A day after the death of 19-year-old Akshat Naik of Lamgao, Bicholim, allegedly due to electrocution, his family has alleged foul play and demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the incident. The victim’s father claimed that the exact time of the incident has not been disclosed and questioned the circumstances surrounding his son’s death. He has urged the police to conduct a fresh panchanama in his presence and carry out a thorough investigation to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the tragedy. The family has maintained that all aspects of the case should be examined and has sought a transparent probe into the circumstances surrounding Akshat’s death. The incident occurred when Akshat had gone with a friend to carry out electrical work at a residence in Maulinguem, Bicholim, on the night of June 26. According to Bicholim police, post-mortem examination at GMC concluded that the cause of death was “pulmonary and cerebral edema due to electrocution.”
