Digital Goa, June 30 – High Court has appointed a child psychologist to counsel and supervise the interaction of four children with their families after observing that the children are severely traumatised and have not met their parents since being placed in child care on May 13. The court was hearing the child begging in Goa related case. The court appointed Dr Anuradha Kakodkar, retired Professor of Psychology at St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, to interact with the children and oversee their reintegration with their families. The psychologist has been directed to submit a report to the court before the next hearing scheduled on July 6. The petition filed by Moses Pinto highlights the endangerment of children’s lives and dignity, as well as the absolute denial of free and compulsory education guaranteed under Article 21A of the Indian Constitution.
