Digital Goa, July 6 – Transport Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho on Monday said the recent notification declaring several land parcels in Dabolim, Cortalim and Sancoale as No Development Zone (NDZ) appears to be the result of a mistake by the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department. Godinho said the notification is likely to have been prepared using the provisional Arauzo Committee report instead of the final notified list, and that he has already brought it to the notice of the TCP Minister and the Chief Town Planner. “That is a mistake on part of the TCP Dept which I brought to the notice of the Chief Town Planner. They are making necessary corrections. There is no problem. I have spoken to the TCP Minister. He said nobody will be troubled and that they will be correcting the situation,” said Mauvin. The minister pointed out that the affected areas include legally constructed houses, bungalows and subdivided plots which had received permissions from the TCP Department itself. All the affected landowners are local residents, he asserted. Godinho said he has also submitted a formal letter to the authorities seeking immediate rectification of the notification.
