Digital Goa, July 9 – ONGC’s Advanced Training Institute (ATI), Goa, issued a clarification stating that the Betul Jetty, where a section collapsed earlier this week, was still under construction and had not been formally commissioned. According to ONGC, the jetty was made temporarily operational during India Energy Week 2026 for limited water transport while construction continued. It said the under-construction pontoon was damaged due to severe weather and cyclonic sea conditions, while the lift structure and gangway remained unaffected. ONGC said the site has been secured, a technical assessment is underway, and the damaged portion will be restored before the project is commissioned after meeting all safety and operational standards.
