Digital Goa, July 9 – Goa Inc has urged the Central Government to take up a series of long-pending infrastructure and policy issues that it says are affecting the state’s economic growth, industrial competitiveness and ease of doing business. Among the key demands are direct international flight connectivity between Goa and Southeast Asian destinations, particularly Singapore, reconsideration of the revised Solar Net Metering Regulations, faster improvement of the Goa–Belagavi highway, early commencement of container cargo operations at Mormugao Port, and financial relief for mining-dependent borrowers affected by the prolonged suspension of mining. A representation to this effect was submitted by the GCCI to Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade with a request to pursue the issues with the concerned Central Ministries and raise them in Parliament.
