Digital Goa, July 31 – Directorate of Mines has notified a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to regulate the import of minor minerals from outside Goa for the purpose of export from the state under the Goa Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1985. The SOP requires importers to obtain prior permission for the transit of minor minerals into Goa, declare details of storage or processing facilities, and secure separate transit or export permits before moving the material out of the state. Applicants processing minerals must also disclose the quantity of processed material and waste generated. The Directorate has also empowered the Competent Officer to mandate the installation of weighbridges and impose additional conditions to ensure effective monitoring of imported and exported minor minerals.
