Digital Goa, August 3 – Leaders of the Enough is Enough (EiE) movement on Monday met the Chief Town Planner (CTP) after the 15-day deadline given to the TCP Department to repeal Section 39A of the TCP Act expired. The delegation had earlier submitted a memorandum and representation demanding that the government withdraw Section 39A, suspend related land-conversion notifications and refrain from issuing any such notifications. Speaking to the media after the meeting, environmentalist Claude Alvares said the CTP informed the delegation that the EiE memorandum, along with her own comments had been forwarded to the higher govt authorities for consideration. Alvares said the CTP had sought additional time as the govt’s response is awaited. The movement has decided to wait for a few more days before taking its next step. Justice Ferdino Rebello, who is spearheading the EiE movement, is expected to return to India on August 12 after which the group will decide its future course of action in consultation with him.
