Digital Goa, August, 12 – The family of 16-year-old Rahul Kumar Bind, from Headland Sada, Vasco who drowned during a school trekking trip at a waterfall in the Sanvordem-Valpoi region, has launched a protest outside the Deep Vihar HSS school at Headland Sada, demanding that the investigation into his death be transferred to the Goa State Crime Branch.Rahul, a Class XI student of the School, lost his life during the trekking activity. The family has alleged that the local police and Forest Department are shifting responsibility and has sought an impartial investigation to fix accountability. They have also demanded action on teachers involved and strict action against all those responsible for lapses that led to Rahul’s death.
Meanwhile, Directorate of Education has issued a show-cause notice to the management of the school in this regards. The management has been given three working days to reply and submit all excursion-related documents.
