From documenting words on the verge of extinction to preserving village traditions and promoting literary activity, the Directorate of Official Language has invited proposals under three schemes for 2026-27.
The ‘Amcho Ganv, Amchi Parampara, Amchem Daiz’ scheme encourages writers and locals to document Goa’s village traditions, rituals, customs, culture and heritage, with financial assistance offered for publishing selected unpublished or translated manuscripts.
Under the ‘Bhasha Vikas Yojana’, registered institutions can seek grants for organising literary programmes in Konkani in Devanagari script, Marathi, Hindi or Sanskrit, with eligible institutions entitled to assistance of up to 80% of admissible expenses.
The ‘Lokbhasha Sangrah Yojana’ focuses on rescuing words and expressions at risk of disappearing. Language experts and lexicographers have been invited to prepare English-Konkani or English-Konkani-Marathi vocabularies covering such terms, along with words connected to Goan culture, customs and traditions.
Applications for all three schemes can be submitted to the Directorate of Official Language by November 30, 2026.
