Digital Goa, Sep 2 – A total of 5,075 applications under the Atal Aasara Yojana have been cleared in Goa over the last five years, while 86 applications are currently pending, Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai informed. Meanwhile, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet said 492 applications from his constituency have been approved since 2022, but the beneficiaries are yet to receive the funds in their bank accounts. Phal Dessai informed that funds are generally not credited unless the beneficiaries’ Aadhaar numbers are linked to their bank accounts.The Minister also said the Social Welfare Department has plans to revamp the scheme to make it more citizen friendly with facilities like door-to-door assistance to senior citizens wherever required.
