A visit to the Church of Abu Serga, also known as the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, in Old Cairo. One of Egypt’s oldest churches, it is built above a crypt where the Holy Family—Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus—is believed to have stayed for three months during their journey through Egypt. The church’s ancient architecture and quiet atmosphere offer a glimpse into a place of deep historical and spiritual significance.
