Digital Goa, July 19 – Goa govt will urge the center not to give permissions to any airlines to divert existing international flights from Dabolim to Mopa, informed CM Pramod Sawant on the floor of the house. Incidentally, Air India and Indigo Airlines have diverted their existing international flights from London and Abu Dhabi respectively from Dabolim to Mopa. “Under open sky policy, we will ask the center to give permissions for new international flights at Mopa. But urge them not to divert existing international flights there,”said Sawant. He further said that Goa govt will write to the Defence Ministry and also take an all party delegation to the PM if the need be in this regards. “Dabolim will never be given entirely to Navy,” CM Sawant asserted.
Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho alleged that GMR being a private entity has ‘sinister’ design to put pressure on Civil Aviation Ministry and the defense to make them demand that the Dabolim Airport be handed over to them in entirety.
