Digital Goa, Jan 5 – Water Resource Department(WRD) Minister Subhash Shirodkar today submitted a memorandum to Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat opposing the technical clearance given by Central Water Commission(CWC) to Karnataka State, for diversion of interstate Mhadei River water. Shirodkar met Shekhawat at the First State Minister Conference on Water Vision @2047 at Bhopal , Madhya Pradesh. Shirodkar said that through the memorandum Goa govt has raised objection to unilateral action of CWC given that the matter is subjudice, before the Supreme Court of India. Through the memorandum Goa govt has demanded that the said clearance should be withdrawn immediately, as the diversion of Mhadei river water, will cause immense damage to the water security, ecology salinity, water balance river ecology , environment.
