Farmers asked to set up grid connected solar power plants on barren or uncultivable lands

Digital Goa, Oct 21 – Goa govt has invited Expression of Interest(EoI) from Farmers (individuals or groups), Cooperatives, Panchayats, Water user associations, Farmer producer organizations etc for setting up grid connected ground mounted solar PV power plants on barren or uncultivable lands under Component A of PM-Kusum Scheme of Govt of India. The EoI is sought for aggregation of capacity of 115 MW under Component A of PM-KUSUM scheme with minimum 500KW and maximum 2MW capacity grid connected ground mounted solar PV power plants within 10 km radius of 33KV/11KV network of Department of Electricity (EDG) to facilitate easy evacuation of solar power. The tariff determination shall be done subsequently based on aggregation of capacity, states the EoI notice. Under Component A Procurement Based Incentive (PBI) to the DISCOM i..e State Electivity Dept is at 40 paise/kWh or Rs.6.60 lakhs/MW/year, whichever is lower, for buying solar/ other renewable power under this scheme. The PBI is given to the DISCOMs for a period of five years from the Commercial Operation Date of the plant.
