Digital Goa, Feb 3 – One senior citizen is the latest victim of haphazard work carried out in the name of Smart City in Panaji. Elderly woman from St Inez fractured her hand after falling in the concrete channel outside her residence. The contractor of smart city works has been so insensitive that no access has been made available for the people to step out of their house, alleged locals. IPSDCL has admitted that no safety measures and protocols were followed at this site. Meanwhile, IPSDCL said “We deeply regret the unfortunate incident involving an injury to a senior citizen at St. Inez. In response to this incident, We have intimated the police and have sought for an investigation. The contractor had been instructed to follow all safety measures & protocols at the site which wasn’t done. We are fully collaborating with the authorities and the police in their ongoing investigation”.
