Digital Goa, Feb 9 – Mhadei Bachao Abhiyan today charged that Goa’s legal team working on Mhadei SLP in Supreme Court is least serious and capable of winning Mhadei case in Goa’s favour. Citing various instances, President of MBA Nirmala Sawant said that no progress has been made since the SLP was filed in 2018 although crores of rupees have been spent on the case so far. Since December 2023, the case was listed 6 times but was not heard. The height of negligence was, Goa legal team sought time to file documents when it came for hearing yesterday, Sawant said. Goa’s legal team consists of 15 to 20 members and they make several trips to Delhi every month to no avail, she added. She further said that neither the Goa government nor opposition are serious about saving Mhadei.
