July 29 – Goa govt will write to NIO regarding the exploration and excavation report of the ancient Gopakapattanam Port site at Goa Velha. Based on the report steps will be initiated to include the site as protected site and initiate restoration work, the house was told by Minister Subhash Phal Dessai today. Incidentally, NIO was given permission for the exploration and and excavation programme in 2018-19.
