52% of India’s CRZ violation cases in last 5 years reported from Goa

    Digital Goa, Feb 6 –  With 974 violation cases, Goa tops the list in the number of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) violations that have been reported in the country in the last five years. As per the information provided by the Coastal State and Union Territory Administration, about 1878 cases of violation of the CRZ Notifications have been reported during the last five years. Of these 974 i.e. 51.86 %  violations have been reported from Goa. Action has been taken accordingly, Rajya Sabha was told in a written reply by Minister of State , MoEF&CC Ashwini Kumar Choubey. Maharashtra is second in the list with 556 violations followed by Karnataka with 101 violations.
