Dec 9- High Court has now adjourned to Dec 13, hearing in the contempt petition related to Noise Pollution due to high decibel music at Anjuna. Govt informed the Court that action has been initiated against 3 establishments for violating noise pollution norms. In 2 of the cases show cause notices have been issued to the establishments for playing music beyond permissible decibel levels. In the third case where loud music was being played without any permissions, speakers and other musical instruments were attached by the police, FIR has been lodged against them and the establishment has been closed down, Govt informed the Court.
Amicus curie also brought to the notice of the Court newspaper report about night long noise pollution on the night of Narkasur celebrations and the hardships it posed to citizens. Court will hear this matter also on Friday, Dec 13, informed AG Devidas Pangam.
