Dec 9- Union Civil Aviation Ministry has stated that Dabolim Airport handled a total of 68,72,411 passengers in 2023-24, significantly surpassing the 44,06,087 passengers managed by Manohar International Airport , Mopa. In response to an unstarred question by Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade regarding measures to boost international tourism in Goa, the ministry revealed that Dabolim Airport catered to 4,27,089 international passengers and 64,45,322 domestic passengers, while Mopa Airport handled 1,15,288 international passengers and 42,90,799 domestic passengers.

Meanwhile, in response to a question raised by South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes in the Lok Sabah, Union Tourism Minister informed that the foreign tourist arrivals in Goa have seen a steady increase since 2021. The post covid pandemic year 2021 saw 22,128 foreign tourists coming to Goa. The number increased to 1.74 lakh in 2022 and further increased to 4.52 lakh in 2023.
