At NITI Aayog meet, CM seeks special funding formula for Goa; pitches state as ‘Human Capital Innovation Laboratory’

Digital Goa, June 11 – Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday pitched Goa as a model for human capital development at the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting and highlighted the state’s achievements in education, healthcare, skilling and digital governance.
Sawant said Goa aims to achieve developed-state status by 2037 and showcased initiatives such as Swayampurna Goa, AI-enabled education, telemedicine and industry-linked skill development.
The Chief Minister also urged the Centre to extend Centrally Sponsored Scheme funding to Goa on a 90:10 basis, citing the state’s ecological constraints and high infrastructure burden due to tourism. Sawant highlighted that Center has allocated over ₹40,000 crore for infrastructure projects in Goa over the last decade.
